Welcome to Torquay 2019/20! Tuesday, Sept. 3 9:00 – 11:30

We are looking forward to seeing your children on Tuesday, September 3 for the first day of the 2019 20 school year!   Please note the following for Grades 1 to 5 students:

  • Tuesday, Sept. 3 is a “short” day. School is in session from 9:00 to 11:30.
  • Our regular timetable starts Wednesday, Sept. 4. 8:45 to 2:40  (M., T., Th. Fr.)  and 8:45 to 2:38 on Wednesdays.
  • Children will be returning to their 2018/19 classrooms until permanent classes are established. When the children arrive at the blacktop area on Tuesday morning, they will see chairs with division/teacher signs.  At 9:00, the children should line up at the appropriate space.  If their teacher from 2018/19 is working at Torquay this year, he/she will greet them.  If their old teacher has moved to a different school, a teacher will greet them who will be their teacher until permanent classes are formed.  We hope to move into permanent classes as soon as possible next week.
  • Please recall that Torquay does not provide before or after school supervision so it is important for children who are not going to Kid’s Klub or Karate Club to have an adult to meet them at the end of the day or have a plan in place for going home.

If your child is a Kindergarten student, you will have received information regarding a Meet and Greet time on Wednesday.  These are 30 minute sessions.
