DESCRIPTION:On Thursday\, April 14th\, 2016\, we are planning on constructing  a Silver Brick Road in order to fund raise for the new school playground.  We invite you to collect silver coins (nickels\, dimes\, quarters) with your child to bring to school on  April 14th.  Our goal is to make a path of coins that travels through the hall from one end of the school to the other! Please note\, no child will be denied participation in the activity if they are unable to contribute coins. \nBuddy classes will work together to add their coins to the Silver Brick Road throughout the day.  We will be collecting and rolling all the coins after the event and depositing the money in the school’s playground fund found at: \nhttps://www.canadahelps.org/dn/25121. \nAny contribution is greatly appreciated. If you feel comfortable please ask your family\, friends and neighbours to contribute too.  Together many small coins can make a big difference!

DESCRIPTION:On Monday\, November 16\, 2015\,  the Board of Education approved an amendment to the 2015/2016 school year calendar to include two curriculum implementation days (January 11\, 2016 and April 4\, 2016) to help support teachers with the transition to the new curriculum. \nThis year\, every school district in British Columbia will be starting the process of transitioning to the new Provincial Curriculum Framework. To support the transition\, the Ministry of Education will be providing time for educators to become familiar with the new curriculum. During the 2015-16 school year\, two non-instructional days will be designated for educators to work directly with the new curriculum. \nIn accordance with the School Act\, “School calendar – amendment\, 87.02 (3) The Board\, must\, as soon as practicable and\, in any event within 30 days of amending a school calendar under subsection (1)\, make available to the public the amended school calendar.”
